We’ll be posting here from time to time on topics that touch international human rights and arise in the course of our pro bono legal advocacy. We know, there's a lot of legal content out there already, but, we take on issues many law firms shy away from. Our clients tend to lack an equal voice in the halls of international political power. Cases like this tend to surface new, compelling, and interesting legal issues.

Democratize Legal Knowledge

One of our primary goals this year is to share the legal knowledge we apply as we work to advance the interests of international criminal justice. In the post-9/11, the de facto process of justice, as it were, and the journey of communities negotiating their legal rights in systems of government, has tended to unfold through legal policy outside of a courtroom in the post-9/11 era. We end up with a lot of "legal outcomes", but few, binding legal opinions issued by judges in courts of competent jurisdiction.

Open dialogue at the nexus of justice and activism helps disentangle all this. Activists learn. Debate cures secrecy with transparency, and if we're optimistic, may inform or enlighten similarly situated activist organizations in different geographies fighting similar, structural patterns of injustice.

Stay tuned!
